Do I get paid as an AmeriCorps VISTA member?
You will not get rich from it, but AmeriCorps VISTA members receive a modest, monthly living allowance to help cover the basic necessities. VISTA members who successfully complete a term of service are also eligible to receive either a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to pay for college or to pay off student loans. An AmeriCorps VISTA may, instead of the education award, opt for an End of Service Stipend (cash payment) which accrues at $125 a month. Like the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, one must successfully complete his/her service year in order to receive this stipend.

9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday, during the months of January, May, June, July, August, and September.
For the months of February, March, April, October, November and December, normal hours of operations are:
Monday through Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST. Friday: Closed
