What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps provides opportunities for Americans of all ages and backgrounds to serve their communities and country through three programs: AmeriCorps Seniors, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America. Members and volunteers serve with national and community nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, schools, and local agencies to help meet community needs in education, the environment, public safety, homeland security, and other critical areas. In 2002, AmeriCorps became part of USA Freedom Corps, a White House initiative to foster a culture of citizenship, service, and responsibility, and help all Americans answer the President's Call to Service.

Hours of Operations:
9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday, during the months of January, May, June, July, August, and September.
For the months of February, March, April, October, November and December, normal hours of operations are:
Monday through Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST. Friday: Closed
The hotline is closed on all federal holidays.
